Iron Goddess of Mercy

This splendid name is a direct translation from the Chinese Tieguanyin, who features in the legend of the origin of this tea. Appropriately for a tea with a legend behind it, this is one of China's most highly prized and its highest grades are more expensive than any other tea. Thankfully we have some excellent grades that don't break the bank.

Iron Goddess comes from Anxi in Fujien and is a lightly oxidised handmade wulong. The curled leaves create a light yellow coloured beverage that lasts well for several infusions. Displaying a superb balance of light and dark, its abundance of sweet orchid aromatics and rich buttery flavours produce a deliciously smooth and full-bodied taste.

Tranquil Black Dragon

This is our classic everyday wulong from Fujian. With a clear, bright, orange-brown colour and a gentle, somewhat spicy flavour, Tranquil Black Dragon has proved popular as an early morning or mid-day beverage.

Narcissus

We like to ensure our teas' names are memorable and as close as possible to the original Chinese translation, but this one gave us a problem. Narcissus and Water Spirit are equally valid - we just happen to like Narcissus.

From northern Fujien, this is a well oxidised darker style wulong with quite a large leaf. This smooth tea has all the classic wulong qualities, with a bright amber colour and light initial taste developing into wonderful complexity.

Anxi Hairy Crab

From Anxi, Hairy Crab is one of the representative wulong teas. The leaves are covered with fine white down, which explains part of its name.

The fragrance of the leaves is hard to put your finger on, but it's slightly reminiscent of a fusion of jasmine and orchids. The infusion is a golden yellow colour, very fragrant and smooth with a lingering aftertaste. This is a tea you can enjoy all day, every day.

Golden Sweet-scented Osmanthus Wulong

Pure golden sweet-scented osmanthus flowers from Guilin are used to scent wulong tea from Anxi in Fujien to produce a delightfully fragrant brew. The osmanthus flowers come from evergreen trees growing among high cliffs and contain more than 10 aromatic components. The mellow and refreshing flavour of the wulong tea blends with the fragrance of the osmanthus, each bringing out the best in the other to create a tea in a class of its own.

This medal-winning tea produces a bright golden infusion, subtly fragrant and distinctive with a mellow flavour and a lingering honey-sweet aftertaste.
